日本語と英語で違うように思う。
参考のために、
「息子のアブラムの妻である嫁のサライ」（新改訳）
「Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife」（KJV）
人名や地名でカタカナの羅列に嫌気が差すけど、家系図や地図を丁寧に整理したらとても需要があると思う。
「嫁」とは、息子の妻を意味する場合もある。家父長制下にあった日本では当然の言い回しだったのかもしれない。知らなかった。
返信削除どうやら新共同訳では「妻」と「嫁」を意図的に使い分けているらしい。

そんなわけで、6章18節や20章12節で気になっていた謎が少し解けたような気もする。
